The Opposite of Forecasting is a project by Douglas Laustsen that is a sonification of the current weather in Austin, TX. You can listen by clicking on the player to the right (or bottom if you’re on mobile) or loading this link inside a media player.
The weather data is currently being collected at my home in the Highland neighborhood, and it is being shared with Weather Underground to help improve the quality of their citizen science reporting. You can see the weather station’s data here.
This June there was a series of live concerts involving improvising musicians playing alongside a realization of weather data at the Museum of Human Achievement.
